About our Pub

The Hope & Anchor Midford is set in the heart of the lovely Cam valley, a 10-minute drive from Bath city centre or a gentle and scenic cycle ride along the new Colliers Way cycle path, which leads straight into the pub car park.

We are one of Bath's few remaining independently-owned and run establishments.  Our historic Pub is owned  by the British-Canadian Bauly Family.

The Baulys have a long family history in Somerset and Suffolk (with family connections to Bristol, Worle and Weston-Super-Mare - as well as the Bury St Edmunds area in Suffolk).  They moved from Toronto, Canada to the UK in 2019 and also manage the Wheelwrights Arms Country Inn & Pub in Monkton Combe.

Prior to this the pub was owned by the Smolarek family for about 30 years.
